 HURRICANE MINDY

Well, would you look at that hurricane season is upon us once again. Hurricane season runs from the beginning of June until the end of November. We have seen this just here recently in the last couple of weeks with Hurricane Ida, Larry, and now Mindy.

According to CNN, Tropical Storm Mindy started with some heavy rain over Georgia and over parts of South Caroline. Forecasters have said that this could push flash floods and maybe even a few tornados through the coast. She has made her appearance coming up through the gulf on Wednesday afternoon. As Mindy continued, it finally made landfall in the Florida Panhandle in St. Vincent later that night.

Here are some links to the Twitter accounts informing people about this hurricane:

Tropical Storm Mindy went from a fifty-fifty chance of developing to very likely to develop in a very short period of time. They are saying that this storm escalated pretty quickly. It was reported that an ocean bouy confirmed a constant wind gust of 40 mph. When Hurricane Mindy made its apperance on Wednesday, it was named the 13th hurricane of the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season. The Washington Post states "Since 1966, only four other seasons have had this many storms by Sept. 8, according to Klotzbach."

It is shown in this post that it is the peak of hurricane season and there are more to come:

Hurricane season can be a very rough time period for a lot of people in the Gulf Coast and the Panhandle. This particular hurricane season in 2021, has potential to be a record breaking season. In the past seasons, the 13th hurricane had not hit until late October. As of right now with Hurricane Larry and Hurricane Mindy still active, there are two other areas that are being watched as potential tropical storms.
