Thomas Steven Ford is a previous felon who is now sentenced to six years in prison because he attempted to steal a car and also damaging the vehicle in the process. Kenneth Weaver, the owner of the vehicle shot Ford in the process.

It was reported that a woman called in the incident at 8:20 a.m. on June 6 when they were witnessing Ford trying to steal the car. She said that her husband was going to check out the situation and this led to Ford being shot in the shoulder and upper chest area.

While the officers were looking for Ford, Weaver called to inform them that he left walking east down U.S. 82 West. He also told the officers that he and his son would follow him in their white dodge so they wouldn't lose him until they arrived.

During the search, Officer Scott Hunter received confirmation that Ford is a 50-year-old white male wearing a black shirt, black Trump hat and blue jeans.

The deputies found the missing vehicle which was a Chevy Avolanche at 10270 Highway 82. The vehicle had been ran into a tree with serious damage to the front end. The front passenger window was also knocked out from the gun shot by Weaver and there was blood in the front seat from Ford being wounded.

Sherrifs Investigator Leroy Martin was now on the scene and Arkansas Game and Fish stet out a K9 search on Ford at 11:30 that morning. Leroy found Ford on Columbia Road 106. Ford was then taken to Magnolia Regional Medical Center where they took out the bullet and he was treated for the bullet wound before being taken to the Columbia County Detention Facility.

By the end of all the events, Ford was sentenced to another three years of SIS for criminal mischief and breaking or entering.
