#19 Classmate Blog Critique

Gwen Gunnels Blog Critique 




    Whether you are a Mass Communication major or a Mass Media major like myself, you have to learn to take advice from other people and learn from others as well. Looking back at other classmates work is definitely a big help when I need inspiration for an assignment and Gwen's blog is the one I find myself looking at the most. 

    Gwen has a very personalized blog and she makes it very easy to understand. She always makes sure to go into full detail on her assignments and this is always a big help. Her blog is very colorful and organized and it makes the blog seem very welcoming. While getting to view Gwen's posts, they always encouraged me to work harder on my post because hers always look so professional.

    Although Gwen's blog is the one I chose to critique, I also enjoyed looking at my other classmates to see what ideas they have had as well. I enjoyed being able to see how my classmates chose to personalize their blog and it almost gives you an idea on their personality and things they enjoy. I have also enjoyed looking back on past classes to see what they have chosen to do for their blogs because the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating your blog. Since I have changed to a Mass Media major, I have found myself to really enjoy the classes and the students who are taking them with me. I really like how you are able to personalize your work while getting to write about what is happening in our world today. Overall, I really enjoyed looking through your blog this semester, Gwen!

#1 Defining News

The news can come in all different forms, for example, the news that we watch on the television newscast, social media, the newspaper, and websites. According to  Merriam Webster , the news is defined as "a report of recent events, previously unknown information or something having a specified influence or effect."  In the world we live in today, we get the majority of our news from social media. Yes, I understand that there are still newscasts but as social media has grown over the years I feel as if the numbers that actually watch TV have gone down. Same thing with newspapers. As social media advances, you will see a decrease in people reading the newspaper.       Google News is just another way for people to access the news. Google News was created by Google and it pulls up the latest news links up to date for the users to see. Google News also works on system where it is more likely to pop up news articles that are similar to things you have searched in the past. Google News wasn't just created for Apple users but was mainly focused on the android users. People can access Google News through IOS, Android, and the Web.
